Vyshgorod district then and now: new borders, towns and villages
The current district of Vyshgorod became an independent unit only in 2020, when a global administrative and territorial reform was carried out, which also affected other parts of the Kyiv region. Its territory was significantly enlarged. Until that time, the annexed lands were divided between smaller neighboring districts, such as Ivankivskyi, Poliskyi. As a result of the reform, they were canceled and dissolved in the new young district of Vyshhorod, significantly expanding its possessions.
As a result of the reform, the border was moved. Currently, they pass along Gomel (Belarus), Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions, as well as Brovarsky and Buchansky districts of the city of Kyiv. The current possessions of the Vyshgorod district consist of 7 territorial communities, which include 1 district, 2 city, 3 settlement and 2 rural communities:
