Vyshgorodsky district then and now: new borders, cities and villages
The current Vyshgorodsky district became an independent unit only in 2020, when a global administrative-territorial reform was carried out, which also affected other parts of the Kyiv region. Its territory was significantly enlarged. Until that time, the annexed lands were divided between neighboring smaller areas, such as Ivankovsky, Polessky. As a result of the reform, they were abolished and dissolved in the new young Vyshgorod district, significantly expanding its possessions.
As a result of the reform, the borders were moved. Now they pass along the Gomel (Belarus), Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions, as well as the Brovarsky and Buchansky districts, the city of Kyiv.
