Oops, the morning coffee spilled over the cup. Oh, the kitten got hungry and decided to taste everything he could get into his mouth. My God, who was so smart as to think of washing his pants without checking his pockets? For all these reasons and more than a thousand more, property owners decide that it is better to laminate their documents than to expose them to danger. No matter which way you look at it, the act is logical, but not from the point of view of Ukrainian legislation. Although you will not find a direct ban on lamination anywhere, it is clearly stated everywhere that notaries, lawyers and representatives of government structures can only work with original documents, and their lamination complicates the verification procedure and makes it impossible to establish authenticity. To laminate or not to laminate - this is the question of our topic today.
What problems does laminating documents cause?
The migration service, the notary and all other specialists who must check the documents will not be able to do so. Lamination poses a number of obstacles, because it does not allow:
- make changes to the text of the document;
- make corrections;
- fill in the required column;
- put marks;
- put an apostille stamp.
Experts can accept for processing only those laminated documents that are originally supposed to be that way. These include:
- passport in the form of an ID card;
- driving license;
- pension certificate;
- diploma of higher education;
- vehicle registration certificate;
- etc.
All other documents such as power law, mining contract, power of attorney, sales contract or rent do not require lamination and must remain in the form in which you received them, because otherwise they will be considered damaged and cannot be used for certain real estate transactions.
