The history of Kopylov goes back to the deep past. The village was first mentioned in written sources in 1392. Its name is related to the word "kopiv", which means a special kind of ax. Such a wonderful name of the settlement reflects its ancient past, cultural heritage and hints at the most popular types of activities. At one time, archaeological traces of human activity dating back to the Late Paleolithic were also found here.
