The street is located simultaneously in three districts of the capital: Pechersk, Holosiivskyi и Shevchenkivskyi. It has a length of 2350 m and runs from Esplanadnaya Street to Halytska Square. It used to be called Zhandarmska, Mariinsko-Blagovishchenska and Pyatakovka. It received its modern name in 1937 in honor of director and actor Panas Saksaganskyi.
