The street is 3,2 km long and is located in Holosiivskyi, Pecherskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts of Kyiv. It runs from Shota Rustaveli Street to the Air Fleet Overpass. It got its name from the area Zhelany, Žylany. At different times, such famous persons as public figure Mykhailo Drahomanov, writer Maksym Rylsky and others lived here.
