Darnytskyi district in Kyiv is a place where history and modernity intertwine into a single canvas. With its large area of 133,63 square meters. km, it occupies an impressive 15,6% of the city area. This area is famous for its 204 streets and alleys, which create a unique mosaic look of the area.
The main highlight of Darnytskyi district is its green areas, which cover as much as 1303,6 hectares, and water bodies, which occupy 556,1 hectares. Here you can enjoy the beauty of 32 lakes, 12 artificial reservoirs and 8 ponds.
But Darnytsia is not only nature, it is also a multifaceted community with approximately 348 inhabitants, which makes this district one of the most densely populated in Kyiv. Darnytsia has a significant economic potential, thanks to various industrial enterprises, a railway junction, a construction complex and communal services.
The industrial sector of the district is diverse and includes 115 enterprises from 10 industries. Leaders among them are the chemical industry, mechanical engineering, metalworking, food industry and production of building materials.
The history of Darnytsia dates back thousands of years, starting with the Neolithic settlements of the IV-III millennia BC. e. The first mention of it dates back to 1509, and since then the district has undergone many changes in its administrative affiliation. In 1935, it became a separate administrative unit.
