Ivan Kudra Street is located in Pechersk district of Kyiv and refers to the Saperne Pole area. With a length of 1,8 km, it runs from Lybidska Square to Lesya Ukrainka Boulevard.
It has been known since 1910 as Boyenskyi (Boyninskyi) lane (later - street) because of the nearby city slaughterhouse. Since 1963, it was named in honor of Ivan Kudri, the leader of the underground group of Chekists in Kyiv. In 2018, the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, suggested renaming it in honor of US Senator John McCain, known for his support of Ukraine. In 2019, by decision of the city council of the capital, the street received a new name.
